Is there still a need for LGBTQ congregations?

For over 40 years, LGBTQ synagogues have filled a real need by providing a safe and nurturing place for those in and out of the closet. With more and more liberal congregations around the country, which are not only welcoming, but affirming of LGBTQ Jews and Judaism, might there now be less of a need?
