Gerry Alann  Noriega    Cantorial Soloist

Gerald is honored to daven at Temple Isaiah of Palm Springs. Born in Brawley, CA, Gerry is now a resident of Desert Hot Springs. Graduating from College of the Desert in 2008 with a Liberal Arts A.A., Gerry began classical vocal training in the College of the Desert Opera Workshop and Musical Theatre and obtained a Paraprofessional Certificate from the American Jewish University’s Wagner Volunteer Internship Program. He also volunteered at Northridge Hospital in the Chaplaincy Spiritual Counseling Department by visiting patients while living in LA.

Gerry joined the AJU Choir and became their Media Representative under the baton of Dr. Noreen Green. It was while training for his adult Bar Mitzvah at Temple Ramat Zion Northridge under the wings of Rav Ahud Sela and Hazzan Daniel Friedman that he was inspired to become a schliach tzibbur to help lead congregations in prayer and service.

Gerry's calling, to pursue the Jewish chaplaincy and cantorial studies, came while singing and davening during the High Holidays and Shabbat Services throughout the Los Angeles and Palm Springs area. He currently attends seminars at the Academy for Jewish Religion, California to help prepare him for Chaplaincy training, while finishing his Bachelors. Gerry will join the College of the Desert cast of “The Phantom of The Opera in Concert” as Maestro: Monseiur Reyer in May 2019 at the McCallum Theatre.

Gifted and eager to continue his cantorial education, we are very pleased to have Gerry with us. Introduce yourself, and you'll find you have made a new friend.
